Terms of Use

By using GroupEase — whether as a group admin, a member, or a visitor — you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

1. About GroupEase

GroupEase is a community management platform that enables group admins to manage dues, fines, donations, payments, and polls for WhatsApp-based community groups. GroupEase is operated as a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform accessible via web browser and mobile application.

2. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years of age to create a GroupEase admin account or make payments through the platform.
  • You must have a valid WhatsApp account linked to the phone number you use to register.
  • By registering, you confirm that all information you provide is accurate and truthful.
  • GroupEase reserves the right to refuse service to anyone at its discretion.

3. Admin responsibilities

If you register a WhatsApp group on GroupEase as an admin, you accept the following responsibilities:

  • You confirm that you are the legitimate admin of the WhatsApp group you are registering.
  • You confirm that you have the authority to manage financial obligations on behalf of the group.
  • You are responsible for notifying your group members that their phone numbers will be used on GroupEase, and for sharing this Privacy Policy and these Terms with them.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy of dues amounts, fine rules, and financial records you configure.
  • You must not use GroupEase to impose unfair, fraudulent, or unauthorised charges on group members.
  • You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.

4. Member auto-registration

When a group admin registers a WhatsApp group, a profile is automatically created for every phone number detected in that group. As a member:

  • Your profile contains only your phone number, payment history within the group, and dues or fine records set by your admin.
  • You can access and manage your profile at any time by signing in with your phone number.
  • You can request deletion of your profile by contacting your group admin or emailing privacy@groupease.com
  • GroupEase is not responsible for dues or fines imposed by your group admin — those are decisions made by your group, not by GroupEase.

5. Payments and fees

Platform subscription fees

  • Group admins pay a subscription fee to GroupEase to use the platform. See groupease.com/pricing for current rates.
  • Subscription fees are billed annually and are non-refundable except where required by law.
  • GroupEase reserves the right to change subscription pricing with 30 days' written notice.

Group dues and member payments

  • Payments made by group members (dues, fines, donations) are collected by GroupEase on behalf of the group admin.
  • GroupEase charges a payment processing fee on each transaction, covering the cost of Flutterwave or Paystack processing. This fee is disclosed at the point of payment.
  • GroupEase is not a bank or financial institution. We facilitate payments but do not hold, lend, or invest group funds.
  • Refunds for member payments are at the sole discretion of the group admin. GroupEase does not process member payment refunds directly.

Failed and disputed payments

  • GroupEase is not liable for failed payments caused by insufficient funds, card declines, or payment gateway downtime.
  • If you believe a payment was charged incorrectly, contact your group admin first. If the issue remains unresolved, contact support@groupease.com

6. Prohibited conduct

You must not use GroupEase to:

  • Impose fraudulent, unauthorised, or illegal charges on group members.
  • Impersonate another person, group, or organisation.
  • Use the platform to harass, threaten, or abuse any individual.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, hack, or disrupt the GroupEase platform or its infrastructure.
  • Use automated tools to scrape, extract, or abuse the platform.
  • Violate any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation.
  • Use GroupEase for any purpose other than legitimate community group management.
Enforcement

Violation of these rules may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account without refund.

7. WhatsApp compliance

GroupEase uses the WhatsApp Business API to send messages on your behalf. By using GroupEase:

  • You agree that all WhatsApp messages sent through GroupEase comply with WhatsApp's Business Policy and Commerce Policy.
  • You must not use GroupEase to send spam, unsolicited commercial messages, or content that violates WhatsApp's terms.
  • GroupEase may be suspended or terminated by Meta if messaging policies are violated. GroupEase is not liable for any resulting service disruption.

8. Intellectual property

  • The GroupEase name, logo, platform design, and all associated content are the intellectual property of GroupEase and may not be used, copied, or reproduced without written permission.
  • Content you create within GroupEase (poll questions, group descriptions, etc.) remains your property. You grant GroupEase a limited licence to use this content solely to provide the service.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • GroupEase is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
  • GroupEase is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform.
  • GroupEase's total liability for any claim shall not exceed the subscription fees you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim.
  • GroupEase is not responsible for disputes between group admins and members, financial decisions made by group admins, or losses resulting from group mismanagement.

10. Termination

  • You may cancel your GroupEase subscription at any time from your admin dashboard.
  • GroupEase may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, fail to pay subscription fees, or engage in conduct harmful to other users or the platform.
  • Upon termination, your group data will be retained for 90 days then permanently deleted, except for payment records retained for legal purposes.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Nigeria. If you use GroupEase from another jurisdiction, you are responsible for compliance with local laws.

12. Changes to these terms

GroupEase may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to group admins via the platform dashboard with at least 14 days' notice before taking effect. Continued use of the platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
